Denver Homeless Out Loud will soon print our first issue of Get Loud. This free, submission-driven publication will provide a platform through which those of us who are experiencing homelessness can speak out about our experiences, concerns and recommendations. It will also provide a means through we can find out about developments that may impact us, and explore ways to work together to create meaningful change.
We welcome you to submit your articles, stories, poems and other items to Get Loud. To do so, you can:
- Email them to email@example.com, or
- Call (720) 415-2434 to arrange a pick-up, or
- Drop them into a Get Loud submission box. These boxes are located at:
*The Blair Caldwell Library at 2401 Welton Street
*Christ’s Body Ministries at 850 Lincoln Street
*The Denver Central Library at 13th and Broadway, in the Level 4 TV room
*Father Woody’s at 1101 7th Avenue
*The Gathering Place at 1535 High Street
*The Spot at 2100 Stout Street
Submissions should be no longer than 1000 words, and may be edited for length, grammar or accuracy. Be sure to put your name and contact information on your submission, in case we need to discuss your work with you. (At your request, we’ll leave your name off when we publish it.)
If you think you might like to join the Get Loud staff, why not come to a meeting and check us out? We generally meet on Tuesdays and Fridays at noon on the first floor of the Auraria campus library at 1100 Lawrence Street (by the green message wall). To confirm our upcoming meeting time and place, please call us at (720) 415-2434, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
